Orthobiologics Medicine for Orthopedics, Sports Medicine, Rehabilitation Physicians, and Pain Management

Dr. Ricardo Colberg, Andrews Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center  

Dr. Colberg has a special interest in treating acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries, including bone, joint, ligament, muscle and tendon injuries. He performs various treatment modalities in the clinic that assist the patient in their recovery from the injury, among them diagnostic musculoskeletal sonography, ultrasound-guided injections, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy, and the topaz procedure for plantar fasciitis. His areas of expertise also include non-surgical management of fractures and dislocations, peripheral nerve injuries (e.g. carpal tunnel syndrome), sport-related spine injuries, pediatric sports injuries, biomechanical evaluation of the injured athlete, implementing sports injury prevention protocols, management of osteoarthritis and screening for potential cases that may have a better outcome by undergoing a surgical procedure. 

 

Dr. Joseph Ruane, McConnell Spine, Sport & Joint Physicians

Dr. Joseph Ruane is the founder and lead physician of McConnell Spine, Sport & Joint Physicians, where his practice is dedicated to comprehensive, non-surgical musculoskeletal care. Dr. Ruane completed a fellowship in Sports Medicine with Horizon Orthopedic, the team physicians for the Cleveland Indians. He is the Medical Director for the Columbus Blue Jackets and has been a member of the clubís medical team since the inaugural 2000-01 season.

Saturday - Didactic-morning session, Cadaver-lab afternoon session - directed by Dr. Ruane, Dr. Colberg and Andy McGillicuddy with Ultrasound, C-arm.

3.  Rehabilitation techniques for Pain Management

4.  Collection and processing of PRP,BMC, and Adipose

5.  When to choose Stem Cells and when to choose PRP or both

6.  Proper patient selection and how to identify specific pathology

7.  Ultrasound Diagnosis-Techniques

8.  Aspiration techniques, for BMC, Adipose and PRP

9.  Marrow Cellution needle

10.  Joint injections
